Job summary

PDL Global Recruitment is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead tender activities and pre-construction coordination in Ireland. The role involves tracking opportunities, preparing tender analyses, and managing documentation in Procore and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track all tender opportunities with the Pre-Construction Manager; keep tracker updated and report to Directors every Friday.
• Review tender and provide summary information to Directors to help decide whether to tender.
• Review tender information with regard to path file lengths before uploading to prevent data loss.
• Upload tender information to Procore and SharePoint.
• Upload drawings to Procore drawings tool in line with Drawing register; confirm with Director if unsure.
• Review information and maintain an RFI schedule throughout the project.
• Communicate tender clarifications to the supply chain and internally.
• Agree procurement list using data from previous similar projects.
• Split tender into packages and send out on Procore to selected subcontractors.
• Follow up calls to gauge interest to ensure a good return; involve Directors as needed.
• Develop a materials package and issue to Purchasing Manager for pricing.
• Ensure site visits occur and photos are documented on Procore; highlight risks to Pre-Construction Manager and Directors.
• Create package analyses and ensure they are levelled; highlight clarifications or exclusions to Chief Estimator.
• Assist in rating the tender documents.
• Prepare Project Prelims in conjunction with Preconstruction Manager.
• Complete BoQ and form of tender.
• Develop a value engineering spread sheet throughout the tender period.
• Develop a clarification spread sheet throughout the tender period.
• Prepare final tender analysis for Director to sign off; clearly highlight risks.
• Finalise Tender with Director and ensure timely submission per tender return criteria.
• From time to time there may be measurement checks to verify quantities; may be in-house or by a 3rd party; report to Commercial Director.
• Monitor Government websites; national and local newspapers; construction magazines to track upcoming contracts and ensure tenders/submissions are completed.
• Ongoing review and monitoring of all staff under your control with appraisal follow-ups where appropriate.
• Attend Management Review Meetings and report to Management.
• Liaison with Purchasing during project construction on budget allowances, subcontractor selection and cost feedback.
• Liaison with Project Quantity Surveyor on costs.
• Contribute to growing the company toward ranking as a top main building contractor in Ireland.
