Job summary

Gi Group is partnering with a leading Irish construction contractor to recruit a Senior Estimator. Based across Galway, Limerick or Dublin, you will lead tendering, cost planning and pricing across diverse sectors, liaising with clients and design teams to secure profitable work.

Seeking a commercially focused professional with 5–10 years in estimating, proficient in industry software and MS Office. Strong knowledge of the Irish market and procurement processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in QS, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years in estimating, ideally with a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of the Irish construction market and procurement processes.
• Proven experience preparing successful tenders across multiple sectors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of detailed cost estimates and tender proposals across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and contracts to develop accurate pricing and cost plans.
• Manage the complete tender process from enquiry to final submission.
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities and commercial considerations for tender strategy.
• Source and negotiate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, design teams and internal departments to clarify project requirements.
• Present tender reviews, cost analyses and recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the estimating function.
• Attend pre-tender and client meetings as required.
