Job summary

Jacksonstone Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior TechOps Engineer to join our technology team. This hands-on role oversees administration, support, security, and continuous improvement of our enterprise IT across on‑premise and cloud platforms.

The candidate should bring strong Microsoft infrastructure and Azure experience, superb troubleshooting, and ability to resolve complex issues from start to finish. The role also involves on-call duties and collaboration with various tech teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a Senior Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, TechOps Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure expertise including Windows Server, Active Directory, and 365 suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Administer and support Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Manage and support Microsoft Azure environments, including hybrid infrastructure.
• Administer virtualised environments using VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise networking infrastructure: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching.
• Support infrastructure security initiatives and ensure best practices are implemented.
• Manage and respond to L3 infrastructure escalations with root‑cause analysis.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and infrastructure records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver reliable, secure services.
• Participate in the organisation's on‑call rota.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior TechOps Engineer to join our technology team. This is a hands‑on infrastructure role responsible for the administration, support, security, and continuous improvement of our enterprise IT environment across both on‑premise and cloud platforms.

The successful candidate will have strong Microsoft infrastructure and Azure experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure issues through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Administer and support Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Manage and support Microsoft Azure environments, including hybrid infrastructure.
• Administer virtualised environments using VMware and/or Hyper‑V.

• Hands‑on PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Proven experience handling complex L3 escalations and troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
• Strong technical documentation and stakeholder management skills.

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools such as:
• SCOM
