Job summary

Avison Young seeks a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor to specialise in Compulsory Purchase & Infrastructure across Ireland. You will assess properties, negotiate acquisitions and support project teams on major infrastructure developments in roads, energy and public works.

The role combines technical surveying with commercial negotiation, stakeholder engagement and travel to sites across the country. Experience in CPO is advantageous but not essential; training and APC support are provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified surveyor with Chartered status or working towards it.
• Previous surveying or property-related experience; CPO experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Good analytical skills and commercial awareness.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and assessing properties and land affected by infrastructure projects.
• Preparing property valuations, cost estimates and budgets to inform planning.
• Advising clients on acquisition strategies, property interests and negotiation approaches.
• Engaging with property owners and representatives to negotiate acquisitions and settlements.
• Working with project teams, legal advisers and other professionals to progress projects.
• Preparing for and attending oral hearings, arbitrations and other proceedings.
• Managing a varied portfolio of property matters across Ireland.
