Job summary

Tesco Ireland is seeking a Deputy Manager for the Clare/Limerick area to support the Store Manager in daily operations and lead a team to deliver outstanding service. You will be the senior point of contact in the store when the Store Manager is away and drive daily priorities.

The role requires strong retail management experience, a passion for people, and the ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and adapt to change.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management experience is required.
• Ability to lead and manage teams.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Be flexible in decision-making and able to handle change.
• Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks.
• Proven ability to resolve a wide range of issues creatively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day store operations and coach the team to deliver great service, availability and a positive impression of Tesco.
• Take full accountability for the store when the Store Manager is absent.
• Be the go-to person for colleagues on day-to-day queries in the absence of their Line Manager.
• Lead communication in the store and foster two-way dialogue.
• Understand the Big 6 for the store and drive the team to meet targets.
• Coach and manage colleagues to deliver priorities and meet customer needs.
• Review reports to identify improvements for customers and staff.
• Be a role model for Tesco values and culture.
• Lead replenishment teams to improve availability, merchandising and shelf standards.
• Create an inspiring and welcoming working environment for customers and colleagues.
