Medforce is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join an established Young Adults Team in Ireland. Based in Johnstown Village, Co.

Kildare, the role involves supporting young adults with complex disabilities as they transition to adult services across day services, homes and community settings. The post holder will deliver high-quality, person-centred Speech and Language Therapy services, including assessment, intervention, consultation, team formulation and staff training.

Qualifications

• Must be senior level or qualified (3+ years)
• Master's degree in Speech and Language
• CORU registered

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise an independent caseload within service priorities.
• Complete comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for adults with complex communication needs.
• Support individuals with Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS/Dysphagia) where trained and competent per IASLT standards.
• Promote the use of assistive technology and communication supports to maximise independence.
• Provide education, consultation and training to families, frontline staff and partner organisations.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and produce clear, concise reports.
• Participate in clinical meetings, multidisciplinary case discussions and service planning.
• Ensure practice complies with CORU standards, safeguarding legislation, policies and codes of conduct.
• Participate in research, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Senior Speech and Language Therapist

The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will join an established interdisciplinary Young Adults Team, providing specialist clinical support to young adults aged 18–26 with complex disabilities as they transition from school to adult services. Based in Johnstown Village, Co. Kildare, the role involves working across day services, homes and community settings throughout Dublin, South Kildare and West Wicklow, with the option to work remotely one day per week.

The post holder will deliver high-quality, person-centred Speech and Language Therapy services, including assessment, intervention, consultation, team formulation and staff training. Working collaboratively with young adults, families and multidisciplinary colleagues, they will develop meaningful goals, apply clinical reasoning to plan and review interventions, and provide recommendations that support communication, participation and quality of life.

Requirements of Senior Speech and Language Therapist
