Job summary

I.T. Alliance Group seeks a Technical Solutions Architect for a Dublin-based data migration project. You will lead solution design and delivery, working with Microsoft Azure data products and enterprise stakeholders.

Hybrid role with onsite presence in Dublin City Centre about two days a week, remote options not available. The role requires extensive experience with Azure Data Services and strong consulting skills for government/public sector projects.

Qualifications

• Third level degree or postgraduate qualification in IT/CS.
• Industry recognised architectural certifications (TOGAF/Zachman/COBIT) are advantageous.
• 7+ years as Technical Solutions Architect with data migration in large enterprises.
• Hands-on with Azure data products: Migrate, DMS, Data Box, Storage Mover, etc.

Technical Solutions Architect - €700-750 per day

About the role

A key Irish Government Organisation urgently for a Technical Solutions Architect to join their team and play a key role in the delivery of an upcoming Data Migration project.

The ideal candidate will have strong track record of Solutions design/delivery and a deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Technology Stack, in particular Azure Data products. They will also have excellent client negotiating/consulting skills along with some experience of working on an enterprise level architectural solution for a government/public sector organisation.

This is a hybrid role, with the Solutions Architect required onsite approximately 2 days per week in Dublin City Centre which may occasionally increase at key project junctures. (Please note that fully remote optins are not available at presnt)

While the role is initially offered on a 12-month basis, there is a strong probability that it will be extended well beyond this timeframe.

Responsibilities of Role

• Play a lead role in designing and implemeting solutions that will underpin a large scale data Migration
• Validate and support supplier’s architecture and design when necessary
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of platforms like Azure migration projects typically combine Azure Migrate, Database Migration Service, SSMA, Data Box, and Storage Mover,and the wider Microsoft Technology stack.
• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance standards.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, IT strategies, and best practices.
• Guarantee compliance with security, data protection, and GDPR standards.
• Oversee delivery of comprehensive technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate cross-business reuse of components and integrated architectures.
• Support project planning (activities, resources, timelines, costs).
• Ensure readiness for post go-live operational management.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies and guide adoption.
• Review solution design for manageability, maintainability, robustness, and integration.
• Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Apply knowledge across domains: Applications, Infrastructure, Integration, Security, and Data.

Experience & Technical Requirements

• Third level degree or postgraduate qualification in IT, Computer Science or other are relevant to the role
• While not essential, Industry recognised Architectural general Certification, such as TOGAF, Zachman or COBIT would be distinctly advatgageous
• 7+ Years experience as Technical Solutions Architect, which must include data migration projects that were delivered in a large enterprise environment
• Direct hand’s on project experience with one or more of the following with Miscrosoft Azure Data Products: Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), Azure Data Box, Azure Storage Mover, Azure Site Recovery, QL Server Migration Studio, SQL Server Migration Assistant, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB
• Ability to be onsite in Dublin City Centre at least days per week – This may ocassionally increase at key project junctures – And come into the customer site at short notice in the event of emergencies
• While not essential, experience of working on large scale solutions projects for Irish or other European government organisations would be advantageous.
• Advanced written and spoken English
• Ability commence working within one month of a job offer without the need for any kind of Visa or Critical skills permit.
