Job summary

Poppulo, Ireland-based, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the growth of its SaaS Employee Experience platform. You will design and implement scalable features, work on microservices, APIs and AWS serverless stacks, and mentor others in a fast-moving, security-conscious environment.

You will collaborate with architects, product managers and DevOps to deliver reliable software, improve observability, and uphold best practices in CI/CD while contributing to a culture of learning

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development in distributed or SaaS environments.
• Experience with Node.js/TypeScript or Java and React.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and SaaS security.
• Hands-on with Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with observability (metrics, logging, tracing, alerts).
• Experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and automated testing.
• Ability to design for scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Desirable: Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable systems and services aligned with standards.
• Implement microservices and APIs with maintainability and performance.
• Own complex features from design through deployment, including testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Architects, PMs, and DevOps for quality delivery.
• Build services using AWS serverless, event-driven, and container technologies.
• Ensure authentication, authorization and security best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold CI/CD pipelines.
• Support observability improvements with metrics and logs.
• Address technical debt and reliability risks proactively.
• Contribute to GDPR and data protection compliance.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of processes.
• Promote inclusive, collaborative engineering culture.
