Job summary

Mason Alexander has partnered with a leading UK travel business to build a new Dublin engineering team. This Senior Software Engineer role focuses on backend systems, microservices, and cloud architecture, with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.

You will design scalable services in .NET/AWS, work in a true hybrid model (one day in Dublin every two weeks), and mentor peers while delivering high-impact features for millions of holiday bookings.

Qualifications

• Seasoned backend engineer with C#/ .NET experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on AWS and microservices exposure.
• API development with GraphQL.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL and containerized deployments.
• Strong focus on resilience and performance.

Responsibilities

We have exclusively partnered with a leading UK travel business on this fantastic opportunity as they are creating a new Engineering team in Dublin and this will be their first expansion outside of the UK market.

Senior Software Engineer (.NET / AWS)

Dublin (Hybrid – 1 day in office every 2 weeks)

Are you a Senior Engineer who thrives on building scalable, high-throughput backend systems? We’re a fast-growing travel platform sending millions of customers on dream holidays every year—and we’re scaling fast.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack leaning Backend) to design resilient microservices, integrate high-volume travel inventory, and shape our cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale distributed backend applications, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Handle high-volume supplier integrations, pricing engines, and transactional workflows.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor containerised cloud services in AWS.
• Elevate engineering standards, mentor peers, and balance speed with system maintainability.

Required

• Strong experience in commercial backend engineering (C# / .NET or comparable).
• Hands-on expertise with distributed systems, event-driven design, and cloud-native architecture (AWS).
• Strong experience developing APIs and using GraphQL
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, and production observability.
• Strong architectural problem-solving skills and a focus on resilience and performance.
