Job summary

Poppulo, a fast-growing software company, seeks a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to shape cloud and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with developers to automate deployments, manage Azure infra, and promote secure, observable systems.

You’ll design and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, apply Terraform/Bicep, and drive incidents, governance, and compliance across the stack while enabling faster delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with pipelines, repositories, and artifacts.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity).
• Proficiency in Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM templates.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS.
• Knowledge of observability tools and MELT concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure security tooling (Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, RBAC).
• Strong networking fundamentals in Azure (VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, DNS).
• Strong communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• DevOps integration: Collaborate with software development to integrate best practices into the DevOps pipeline.
• Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Provision and manage Azure infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep).
• Continuous Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Security Integration: Embed security practices across the DevOps pipeline including secrets management.
• Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities and root cause analysis.
• Compliance: Support GDPR/ISO27001 through infrastructure controls and audit readiness.
• Collaboration & Enablement: Guide development teams on DevOps practices and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• DevOps Integration: Collaborate with software developmentto integrate best practices into the DevOps pipeline, automating controls and promoting a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, ensuring efficient, reliable, and repeatable build, test, and deployment processes.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Provision and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ensuring environments are scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient.
• Continuous Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutionsto ensure system health and rapid incident response.
• Security Integration: Embed security practices across the DevOps pipeline, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and adherence to Azure security best practices.
• Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, contributing to root cause analysis and the implementation of preventative measures.
• Compliance: Support compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001) through appropriate infrastructure controls, access management, and audit readiness.
• Collaboration & Enablement: Provide guidance and support to development teams on DevOps best practices, tooling, and workflows.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Strong hands-on experience with Pipelines, Repositories, Artifacts
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services, including compute, networking, storage, and identity (AAD/Entra ID)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM templates
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS )
• Solid understanding of observability (e MELT) and related tools
• Familiarity with Azure security tooling, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, and RBAC
• Understanding of networking fundamentals in Azure (VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, DNS)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across development, operations, and stakeholder teams

Nice to Have:

• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104)
• Experience in repository migrations (including pipelines)
• Exposure to security and code quality scanning tools such asSonarQube, or similar
• Experience working in regulated industries or with compliance frameworks

Compensation

Annual base salary gross: : 70,000-85,000 EUR plus variable. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Company's contemplated salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographic location. The salary is one component of Company's total compensation package for employees.
