Barden | B Corp in Dublin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join on a contract basis for 8 months, tackling a hands-on backend role within an internal tooling team.

You will modernise long-standing internal tools, understand their architecture, refactor legacy code, and optimize performance while collaborating with Product Managers and Designers across Ireland and the US.

• Experienced full-stack engineer with a strong backend focus and PHP engineering experience.
• Strong debugging skills and a methodical approach to unpicking unfamiliar code.
• Experience refactoring and improving legacy systems.
• Comfortable with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Happy to shape requirements, not only follow them.
• Clear communicator who thinks about the end user.

Contract role - 8 months (Jan 2027-August 2027)

Barden is delighted to be working with a global technology company in Dublin as they look to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer on a contract basis. This is a hands-on backend role inside an internal tooling team, in the middle of a large overhaul of the systems its people rely on every day.

You will work on tools that have been running for well over a decade, understand how they really work, and help drive their modernisation. The team is split between Ireland and the US east coast, and it already has strong front-end leadership driving strategy, so you can stay heads down on the engineering.
