Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise-grade software. You will own AI-enabled, scalable backend and cloud architecture working with product and business teams.

The role requires substantial full-stack experience, building RESTful APIs, microservices, and secure patterns. Expect ownership of containerization, CI/CD, and mentorship in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• Full-stack capability with React/TypeScript frontend and backend frameworks.
• Experience designing, developing and operating RESTful APIs and microservices at scale.
• Knowledge of microservice patterns, inter-service communication and API gateways.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems like Kafka.
• PostgreSQL design and query optimization; exposure to NoSQL or vector databases is a plus.
• OAuth2/JWT authentication and secure API practices.
• Docker and Kubernetes/GKE for containerization and orchestration.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins; full lifecycle ownership.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and operate RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable business capabilities.
• Apply microservice patterns, service decomposition, and API gateway concepts.
• Design reliable data models and optimize PostgreSQL; evaluate NoSQL/vector options.
• Implement secure patterns including authentication, authorization, and secrets mgmt.
• Own containerized deployment practices with Docker, Kubernetes, and GKE.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Lead integration of LLMs into production apps, including RAG and embeddings.
• Mentor engineers and translate requirements into technical solutions.
