Job summary

Origina is seeking a seasoned software engineer to design, develop, test and maintain business-critical applications. You will own technical delivery for initiatives across the full software lifecycle and ensure secure, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes API development, data modeling, and AI/automation integration to improve business processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders, mentor junior developers, and contribute to platform strategy, governance, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

5-8 years' commercial software development experience, including delivery and support of business-critical applications.
Strong software engineering capability with experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining enterprise applications.
Strong SQL, relational database design and data modelling skills.
Experience developing APIs, enterprise integrations and cloud-hosted solutions.
Proven experience supporting production applications, troubleshooting issues and managing post-go-live support.
Proficiency with source control and modern software development/delivery practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently own technical delivery.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain business-critical applications and services.
Deliver high-quality, maintainable software using modern development practices.
Own technical delivery for assigned initiatives from requirements through production support.
Work across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment and continuous improvement.
Ensure solutions are secure, performant and aligned with business objectives.
Design and integrate practical AI, LLM and automation solutions to improve business processes and user experience.
Evaluate emerging technologies and identify commercially valuable applications.
Ensure AI solutions are secure, governed and aligned with organisational standards.
Lead the design and evolution of application, integration and AI data architectures.
Design, optimise and maintain relational databases, data structures and application data models.
Develop APIs and enterprise integrations between internal and external platforms.
Support the integrity, performance and scalability of business data solutions.
Contribute to Origina's data and application platform strategy.
Provide technical leadership on solution design, integration and development best practices.
Mentor developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
Partner with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable and sustainable solutions.
Support applications after deployment through troubleshooting, root cause analysis and issue resolution.
Contribute to continuous improvement across development, support and operational processes.
Participate in change management, release management and application governance activities.
