Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Dublin to bolster our Analytics Engineering Team. You will contribute to end-to-end software development, data pipelines, and AI-powered solutions that support business insights.

The role emphasizes scalable design, collaboration across teams, and responsible AI practices. You will partner with cloud platforms (Azure), data engineers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality code, pipelines, and production-ready applications while advancing

Qualifications

• Development experience with Python, Java/Scala, JSON, Web Services.
• Experience in relationship databases (SQL).
• Experience in developing applications on at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members.
• Lead end-to-end software engineering activities, including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, deployment, and application support.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance software applications and AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI
• Build and optimize data workflows and pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL to process large-scale datasets efficiently
• Research, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks and patterns to build a sustainable Analytic platform
• Advance DevOps practices by contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring
• Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts & design and code reviews
• Collaborate with management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teams
• Write technical documentation and participate in production support
