Job summary

Optum is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Ireland to optimize consumer data flows, migrate data to the cloud, and enrich datasets. You will contribute to predictive models and scalable data platforms supporting cost-efficient healthcare decisions.

The role collaborates with business and analytics teams to ensure data quality and governance while advancing data-driven insights for better health outcomes in a hybrid Dublin/Letterkenny setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building scalable data pipelines using solid software engineering principles.
• Proven experience in data analysis and data mining.
• Proven experience working with cloud platforms and large-scale datasets.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain ETL pipelines for data flow into data lakes/warehouses with quality controls.
• Data Integration: Consolidate data from databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and external providers.
• Data Transformation & Processing: Clean, normalize, and aggregate datasets for analytics and ML applications.
• Frameworks & Best Practices: Contribute to reusable data frameworks and CI/CD for pipelines.
• Data Governance: Implement governance protocols ensuring data security and compliance.
• Monitoring & Support: Monitor data systems and resolve issues to maintain reliability.
