Job summary

Adecco in Ireland is seeking a Senior Python / AI Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on large-scale, high-volume systems. You will contribute from day one, blending strong software fundamentals with modern AI expertise in system integration and production-grade AI at scale.

You will design agentic AI workflows, apply RAG architectures, and implement governance and reliability techniques to ensure robust, scalable deployments in a fast-evolving AI landscape.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-volume systems.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications in production.
• Hands-on experience designing agentic AI workflows.
• Strong understanding of RAG and modern AI architectures.

We are looking for a Senior Python / AI Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on large-scale, high-volume systems.

This is an opportunity for a strong engineer who can contribute from day one, bringing together excellent software engineering fundamentals with modern AI expertise. The role has a strong focus on system integration, production-grade AI and building robust agentic solutions at scale.

What we're looking for

• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, design principles and scalability.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-volume systems.
• Strong experience with system integration and complex technical environments.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications in production.
• Hands-on experience designing agentic AI workflows.
• Strong understanding of RAG and modern AI architectures, beyond basic implementations.
• Experience with AI guardrails, governance, policies and reliability techniques.
• Understanding of intelligent routing, orchestration and multi-agent or agent-based architectures.
• A strong interest in keeping up with the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
• A curious and forward-thinking approach, with a desire to challenge existing approaches and find better solutions.

The ideal candidate

We're looking for someone who combines the mindset of a strong/principal-level software engineer with deep knowledge of modern AI.

You won't simply be consuming existing AI frameworks. You'll be expected to push the boundaries of what can be built, make sound engineering decisions and turn emerging AI capabilities into reliable, scalable production systems.

You should be comfortable operating in a complex environment, contributing from day one, and raising the engineering bar through both your technical expertise and approach to problem-solving.
