Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is partnering with a global financial services organisation to hire a Senior Software Engineer who bridges traditional software engineering with AI technologies, turning business problems into production-ready applications or automated workflows.

You’ll work across Python, APIs, Microsoft’s AI and automation ecosystem and enterprise integration technologies, with opportunities to contribute to Generative AI and agent-based solutions within a highly complex environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of producing production software within enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Solid understanding of JSON, web services and API architecture.
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI and API documentation.
• Proven ownership of technical design and architectural decisions.
• Experience delivering applications or services within large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code and maintainable architecture.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build intelligent automation solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform.
• Develop and orchestrate AI agents, actions, tools and automated workflows.
• Translate complex business processes into scalable, technology-enabled solutions.
• Build supporting Python services, APIs and automation components.

We’re partnering with a global financial services organisation that is investing heavily in AI-driven engineering and intelligent workflow automation.

The team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can bridge the gap between traditional software engineering and emerging AI technologies, someone who enjoys taking a business problem, designing the technical solution and turning it into a production-ready application or automated workflow.

You’ll work across Python, APIs, Microsoft’s AI and automation ecosystem and enterprise integration technologies, with the opportunity to contribute to the adoption of Generative AI and agent-based solutions within a highly complex technology environment.

This is a hands‑on role with genuine scope to influence how AI-enabled solutions are designed, integrated and delivered at enterprise scale.

What you'll be doing

• Design and build intelligent automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform.

• Support Agile delivery through sprint planning, estimation, technical discussions and delivery activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across development and production environments.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a strong software engineer first and foremost. You should have:

• 5+ years' experience delivering production software within enterprise environments.
• Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Strong understanding of JSON, web services and API architecture.
• Experience working with Swagger / OpenAPI and API documentation.
• Proven experience taking ownership of technical design and making architectural decisions.
• Experience delivering applications or services within large, complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code and maintainable architecture.
• Experience working within Agile / Scrum environments.
• Experience with code reviews, engineering standards and automated development practices.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
