We’re looking for a Senior Scala Developer with strong backend expertise and a passion for building scalable, high‑impact systems to join our clients growing team in Dublin. You’ll work on industry‑leading platforms, designing and delivering robust solutions that power modern digital experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and wants to shape enterprise technology through technical leadership and innovation.

The Job

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high‑performance backend systems
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision‑making
• Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
• Write and review technical documentation (designs, RFCs, RCAs)
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong, inclusive engineering culture

Experience Needed

• 7+ years’ experience in backend or platform engineering
• Strong Scala expertise (essential), with Java and AWS experience
• Proven track record delivering scalable, low‑latency systems
• Experience owning architecture and influencing technical direction
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and modern backend design
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor others

Nice to Have

• Experience with Go or Python
• Strong AWS knowledge, including cost optimisation
• Contributions to engineering culture, hiring, or organisational growth

Remote in Ireland – with one day a month on site in Dublin. Candidate must be based in Ireland. Permanent role.
