Job summary

Acuity Inc. in Ireland seeks a Software Architect for the Product Data Management (PDM) system to define and maintain the technical architecture, standards, and roadmap for a critical enterprise platform.

This role combines hands-on architecture with leadership, partnering with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Security and Data teams to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant architecture responsibility.
• Strong experience with enterprise application design.
• Experience defining architecture for large‑scale business‑critical applications.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, event‑driven architectures, and microservices concepts.
• Experience with Azure, CI/CD, DevOps, security, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Experience working within Agile and SAFe delivery models.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end distributed systems with a focus on scalability and high availability.
• Design and optimize multi-tier cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and IaC.
• Define standards for API design and service integration (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
• Guide language-appropriate architectural decisions across Python, C#, and Java.
• Champion clean architecture, DDD, and design patterns to maintain code quality.
• Lead data architecture decisions across SQL and NoSQL stores.
• Architect asynchronous, event-driven platforms using messaging systems and streaming.
• Embed CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and secure deployment pipelines.
• Drive architecture and adoption of internal developer platforms (IDP).
• Evaluate AI/ML pipelines and LLM integrations to modernize capabilities.
