Job summary

CoAction West Cork is seeking a Professionally Qualified Senior Social Worker for the West Cork Children’s Disability Network Team. This permanent role is 35 hours per week with a closing date of Friday, 2nd October 2026.

The post reports to the Children’s Disability Network Manager and delivers child and family social work within an interdisciplinary, family‑centred framework. You will provide assessments, advocacy, group work for parents, case management and training, ensuring high

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and CORU registration.
• Maintain live annual CORU registration.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a professionally qualified social worker.
• Experience receiving and processing social work referrals and managing a caseload.
• Willingness to lead and participate in new service initiatives to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Access to own transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work assessments, support, counselling and advocacy to children and families on the CDNT.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver needs-based services.
• Facilitate group interventions for parents and carers.
• Attend child in care reviews and other relevant meetings.
• Plan and deliver high-quality social work services in line with professional standards.
• Provide training to parents, staff, volunteers and students as required.
• Maintain records and reports with confidentiality and data protection.
• Liaise with HSE, Tusla and other agencies to promote seamless service delivery.
• Contribute to policy development and participate in service evaluation and research initiatives.
