Job summary

Townmore Ltd in Athlone, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to lead the on-site engineering team on the Athlone project. You will drive quality, programme delivery and coordinate subcontractors, reporting to the Site Manager and working with the project team to achieve milestones.

The role requires proven setting-out expertise, strong drawing interpretation skills, and hands-on leadership to manage the existing Site Engineer and drive site activities.

Qualifications

• Senior Site Engineer experience with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
• Ability to lead and manage the engineering team on site.
• Excellent setting-out skills using Total Station and GPS.
• Strong technical knowledge to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and overseeing works on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering team on site, including the existing Site Engineer.
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities in line with the project programme.
• Oversee and carry out accurate setting out using Leica Robotic Total Stations and GPS.
• Review technical drawings and manage RFIs, including use of AutoCAD.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered accurately and to specification.
• Oversee concrete and structural works as required.
• Maintain quality documentation, records and as-built surveys.
• Work closely with the Site Manager and project team to achieve key programme milestones.
• Ensure high technical and quality standards across the project.

This is a key senior appointment on the project. With a Site Engineer already in place, the successful candidate will take the lead on engineering activities and manage and coordinate the engineering team on site, working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to drive quality, programme and successful delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Senior Site Engineer with a main contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Confidence and ability to lead and manage the engineering team
• Excellent setting-out skills with strong Total Station and GPS experience
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to interpret drawings and specifications
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and overseeing works on site
• A proactive approach to quality, safety and problem-solving
