Job summary

A residential developer in Cork City Centre is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to support the delivery of a major apartment project. This site-based role requires precise setting out, close collaboration with site and engineering teams and accurate record-keeping to ensure on-time, quality delivery.

You will interpret drawings and specifications, use total station surveying equipment, and maintain as-built documentation while upholding QA standards on an urban residential build.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 13+ years of experience in a setting out/site engineering role.
• Experience on residential or building projects preferred.
• Competent with total station and surveying equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on site.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all setting out duties on residential apartment projects.
• Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications accurately on site.
• Ensure all works are set out in accordance with design and quality standards.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Maintain accurate site records and as-built documentation.
• Support QA checks and ensure compliance with project requirements.
