Job summary

Amazon Optics in Ireland seeks a senior software engineer to design, develop, and deploy secure services protecting AWS sites worldwide. You will own end-to-end solutions deployed across regions using Infrastructure as Code and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires leadership in architecture, mentoring, code reviews, and delivering robust, scalable systems using Java/C++/C#. EU citizenship is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Mentor, tech lead or lead an engineering team
• Architecture and design of systems (patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Non-internship software development experience
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or C# with OO design
• Development experience in the last 3 years
• EU national status required

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure services protecting AWS locations across the full software lifecycle
• Own operational excellence by identifying root causes and implementing fixes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance customer requirements with team goals
• Participate in code reviews and document system construction and operation
• Automate inefficiencies and scale solutions across all AWS regions in IaC environment
