EirGrid Group, operating Ireland’s electricity grid, is seeking a SCADA Operations professional to help maintain EMS models, databases and related networks. The role focuses on BAU activities, modelling, validation and testing of transmission equipment within the EMS.

You will work within an IT-intensive team supporting core systems 24/7 across Dublin and Belfast, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliability and resilience of the grid.

Qualificações

• Degree in IT or engineering with minimum 6+ years of direct relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Self-starting and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Effective written and verbal communication to business and technical audiences.
• Experience using MS Office tools, including Excel, MS Project and Visio.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute subject matter expertise to strategic delivery programmes.
• Act as point of escalation for major incidents.
• Develop runbooks and operating procedures for embedding new technologies and ways of working.
• Support BAU delivery for modelling, deployment and testing of new plant in the EMS with SCADA Operations.
• Support release management and testing of EMS databases and Grid Controller displays with National Control Centre teams.
• Support INTegregrated Single Electricity Market requirements for EMS including feeds and network models.
• Assist decision support tools for National Control Centre.
• Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve information sharing and engineering standards.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery drills and Business Continuity activities.
• Participate in on-call rosters as knowledge of EirGrid IT systems grows.
