Job summary

EirGrid Group is seeking a seasoned SCADA Operations professional to support the maintenance, accuracy and resiliency of the EMS and its databases. You will collaborate with the SCADA Operations team to validate new transmission equipment and ensure reliable modelling and testing.

You will contribute domain expertise, support major incidents, and help embed new technologies while coordinating with Belfast and National Control Centre teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant IT or engineering degree with a minimum of 6+ year direct relevant experience.
• Experience in a secure IT environment and working on critical infrastructure.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Effective communicator to business and technical audiences.
• Experience using MS Office tools (Excel, MS Project and Visio or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Contribute subject matter expertise to strategic delivery programmes.
• Act as point of escalation for major incidents.
• Develop runbooks and operating procedures for embedding of new technologies and ways of working.
• Support BAU delivery of a rolling programme for modelling, deployment and testing/pre-commissioning of new plant in the EMS with SCADA Operations.
• Support release management and testing of EMS databases and Grid Controller displays in the National Control Centre with Belfast team.
• Support wider Integrated Single Electricity Market requirements for EMS including feeds and network models.
• Support decision support tools for National Control Centre.
• Liaise cross-functionally to improve information sharing, signal list quality and engineering standards.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery drills and contribute to Business Continuity Management.
• Participating in on-call team when requisite knowledge acquired of IT Systems.
