Job summary

Hopper is seeking a senior full stack engineer to anchor HTS Assist product. You will own the realtime and voice layer end-to-end while building across React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure.

The role offers ownership in a lean, senior team with broad responsibilities, from code to customer impact. You will work on multi-tenant scale, safety/compliance, observability, and go-lives with partner integrations, while mentoring others and raising the

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Hands-on realtime systems experience (voice, WebRTC/SIP, streaming)
• Strong frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Scala/Python) with cloud experience
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices or event-driven systems
• Familiarity with AI coding tools in workflow and ship ownership
• Operable-systems mindset: SLAs, observability, on-call rotations
• Bonus: conversational AI or LLM orchestration and CPaaS platforms

Responsibilities

• Own the voice channel end to end (telephony, CPaaS, streaming STT/TTs)
• Build features across stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Scala/Python backend, GCP infra
• Design for multi-tenant scale via configuration
• Build safety/compliance plumbing (audit, guardrails, PII redaction)
• Maintain revenue-critical deployments with observability and SLAs
• Configure partner telephony integrations and go-lives
• Raise engineering bar via reviews and mentoring
