Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wexford
Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with a leading construction contractor on the delivery of a major healthcare project in Wexford. We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the project delivery team, taking ownership of the commercial management of the project and working closely with the wider project leadership team.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take on greater responsibility, mentor junior team members and develop their career within a major construction environment.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing risk, value management and cost control across the project
- Advising on procurement strategy and preparing procurement schedules alongside the Project Manager and Commercial Manager
- Preparing and issuing subcontract tender documentation, including Bills of Quantities, specifications, drawings, preambles and subcontract agreements
- Analysing subcontractor tenders and making recommendations based on commercial value
- Checking Bills of Quantities and preparing BoQs where required
- Managing subcontractor accounts, including interim payments, claims, retentions and final accounts
- Assessing and quantifying the effects of delay and disruption
- Supporting the administration of the main contract, including interim valuations and final account agreement
- Identifying, notifying and administering variations in accordance with the relevant contract conditions
- Supporting monthly cost-value reconciliation and commercial reporting
- Monitoring subcontractor costs, preliminaries, materials and cash flow
- Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentoring and supporting junior and project Quantity Surveyors
What you will need:
- B.Sc. in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- 4-5 years' experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
- Proven experience delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget
- Chartered MSCSI / MRICS status, or currently progressing through the APC process
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office, Cubit / CostX and COINS
- Ability to take ownership of commercial matters and work effectively with project leadership
