Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong structural steel experience to take ownership of the commercial side of live projects in Dublin. This permanent, full-time role offers genuine ownership and a clear path to senior leadership within a respected contractor.

You will manage valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts, review contracts and drawings, and collaborate with project teams and clients to keep projects on budget and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel.
• Strong understanding of structural steel projects, fabrication and erection.
• Experience managing the commercial side of live construction projects.
• Experience with valuations, variations, applications, cost control and final accounts.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
• Must be based in Dublin or within a commutable distance.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance of live structural steel projects, protecting margin and managing financial exposure.
• Manage valuations, variations, applications for payment, final accounts and commercial reporting.
• Review contracts, drawings and project information to identify commercial opportunities and potential risks.
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, engineers and clients to keep projects commercially on track.
• Challenge costs, variations and changes where the numbers do not stack up.
• Build strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
