Job summary

SSA Group in Limerick is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role with a leading Main Building Contractor. You will manage the commercial delivery on major projects from procurement to final accounts, ensuring costs are controlled while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

The role emphasizes budgets, cost control, client and subcontractor relationships, mentoring junior staff, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying.
7+ years' post-graduate experience in QS.
Experience with a Main Building Contractor is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Full commercial management of construction projects.
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
Valuations, variations and final accounts.
Identify and mitigate commercial risks with clients, consultants and site teams.

SSA is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established Main Building Contractor for a permanent position based in Limerick.

About the role:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of major construction projects across the Munster region. You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, ensuring costs are controlled while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Your responsibilities will include:

Full commercial management of construction projects
Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts and monthly cost reports
Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
Managing valuations, variations and final accounts
Identifying and mitigating commercial risks Liasuining with clients, consultants and site management teams
Mentoring junior members of the commercial team
Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to programme
