Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor in Tralee. You will manage project costs, commercial performance and contractual matters across a diverse civil and construction portfolio.

You will lead budgets, cost plans, procurement and subcontractor negotiations, with a focus on risk management and value engineering. Hybrid/flexible working and a structured bonus are available.

Qualifications

• Degree or recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience, ideally with a main contractor or civil engineering company.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, contracts and the Irish construction industry.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and cost management of assigned projects from tender through to final account.
• Prepare budgets, cost plans, forecasts and regular commercial reports.
• Manage procurement, tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, claims and financial performance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Support contract administration and resolution of commercial disputes.
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.
