Job summary

Breagh Recruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established Irish main contractor in filling a Senior Quantity Surveyor position for an education construction project in South Dublin. The role covers commercial leadership from procurement through final account on a live school/college project, with close collaboration with the Commercial and Project Managers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience working with a main contractor in Ireland.
• Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, valuations and final accounts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of the project from commencement through to completion.
• Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and monthly valuations.
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractor packages.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements and final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project costs and ensure budgets are maintained.
• Prepare and assess variations and contractual claims.
• Work closely with site management to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Report regularly to senior management on project performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
