Job summary

GMC Utilities Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, supporting delivery of projects across civils, utilities and construction in Ireland. You will review budgets, manage subcontract packages, handle variations and cash flow, and prepare monthly valuations with clients and subcontractors.

We require a recognised QS or Commercial Management qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Ireland or the UK.

Qualifications

Recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Minimum 3+ years’ experience as Quantity Surveyor, civils/utilities/construction in Ireland or the UK.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contract management.
Knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable.

Responsibilities

Breakdown and analyse project budgets for cost allocation and control.
Prepare and manage subcontract packages and accounts.
Process contract variations and claims and maintain records.
Prepare and monitor project cash flow projections.
Produce monthly valuations and manage final accounts with Client and subcontractors.
Prepare, maintain, and review monthly cost reports.
Maintain risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time trackers.
Liaise effectively with Clients, Subcontractors, and internal team to support successful project delivery.
