Job summary

ESB is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for its Networks Civil & Environmental Engineering division to manage commercial aspects of major infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will oversee cost planning, tendering, contract administration and risk assessment across traditional and alternative contracting models.

Based in Dublin or Cork with travel to sites, the role emphasises leadership, stakeholder management and process improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years post-graduate experience.
Good knowledge of administration of main contract conditions (FIDIC).
Knowledge in cost estimating, tendering, post-tender evaluation and pre-contract negotiation.
Cost control reporting and management experience.
Chartered status in a recognised professional institution.

Responsibilities

Provide knowledge and expert advice on commercial matters and risk on ESB projects.
Assist mentoring of junior staff and enhance collaboration.
Drive continuous improvement on commercial contract issues and cost management.
Deliver full commercial management services across project lifecycle for Networks business.
Prepare tender documentation and conduct commercial assessment and tender evaluation with procurement.
Monitor costs of civil works and advise on cost accrual vs Capex approval.
Negotiate complex commercial matters for contracts, claims and final accounts.
