Job summary

Web Summit seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to work across Rails monolith, native apps and services, building tests, data and tools to prove end-to-end release quality. You will help teams ship more confidently by creating repeatable, data-driven test strategies and identities used across multiple platforms.

You will be on-site at events, translating real-world usage into test coverage, monitors and decisions, while collaborating with multiple teams to improve testing throughout the software

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills and a track record of building test software used by engineers.
• Experience testing journeys across APIs, services, web or mobile clients, and judgements about testing layers.
• Experience creating reusable test data and environments, and running automated tests in CI/CD.
• Experience investigating failures with logs, monitoring and crash reports, and explaining risk to engineers and non-engineers.
• Comfortable using AI tools to write and maintain tests.
• Proficiency in at least one of Ruby, JavaScript, Swift or Kotlin, and ability to read the others. Mobile automation like Maestro is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Build the tests, data and tools teams use to show end-to-end releases work.
• Create reusable test identities and event-like data for teams to use.
• Run the whole flow across mobile apps and backend services weekly.
• Provide clear evidence of dependencies and risks for releases.
• Work on site at events to observe real-world usage and translate findings into tests or monitors.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to improve testing across the stack.
