Job summary

Dolby, based in Dublin, seeks a Staff Engineer – SQA to shape long-term SQA direction for a portfolio of global PC applications. You will design scalable automation frameworks, set validation strategies, and drive quality across teams, partnering with software engineering and product leadership. This senior role emphasizes impact over people management.

You will influence release readiness and quality gates, mentor engineers, and define metrics to ensure stable, high-quality delivery at scale.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in Software Quality Assurance for complex production software.
• Hands-on experience with SQA automation and tooling, using Python or similar.
• Ability to design and evolve SQA automation frameworks across test levels.
• Understanding of CI/CD driven development and quality gates.
• Ability to analyze and debug issues in client-side apps (C#).

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve SQA strategy and standards across multiple PC applications.
• Design, own, and evolve scalable SQA automation frameworks and validation strategies.
• Establish quality metrics and release criteria for predictable delivery.
• Identify systemic quality risks and lead cross-team SQA initiatives.
• Mentor senior SQA engineers and raise quality standards across teams.
