Job summary

Dolby is seeking a Staff Engineer – SQA to shape the long-term SQA direction for a portfolio of consumer-facing PC applications. You will design scalable automation frameworks, establish quality metrics, and drive quality gates across teams to ensure stable, high-quality software at global scale.

This senior, hands-on role emphasizes technical influence over processes rather than people management, with opportunities to mentor engineers and shape standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in SQA, quality engineering, or test architecture for production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience with SQA automation and quality tooling using Python.
• Design, evolve, and own SQA automation frameworks across multiple test levels (unit, integration, system, end-to-end).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD driven development and SQA validation workflows, including quality gates.
• Analyze, debug, and reason about issues in C#-based client applications.
• Experience applying SQA practices to client-side, consumer-facing applications with high stability requirements.
• Ability to operate at both hands-on technical and strategic levels, influencing SQA decisions across teams.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate risks to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve SQA strategy, standards, and long-term direction across multiple PC applications.
• Design, own, and evolve scalable SQA automation frameworks and validation strategies.
• Establish quality metrics, benchmarks, and release criteria for predictable delivery.
• Identify systemic quality risks and lead cross-team SQA initiatives to address them.
• Ensure SQA practices are integrated into CI/CD workflows and release readiness.
• Collaborate with software engineering, product, and leadership to influence quality decisions.
• Act as a technical authority on SQA topics across the organization.
• Mentor senior SQA and software engineers to raise quality standards across teams.
