Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Senior QA Engineer based in Ireland to join a product squad as a senior technical contributor.

You will own test architecture, strategy, and automation across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, with emphasis on performance and contract testing within a fintech context. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams from the earliest stages, define acceptance criteria, and drive quality gates and DoD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA engineering experience in a software product environment with ownership of testing strategy for complex domains.
• Strong automation, API testing, and performance testing skills with CI readiness.
• Experience in fintech/payments or digital finance is preferred; familiarity with AI-assisted QA workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embed fully within an engineering squad as a core technical contributor.
• Define and refine acceptance criteria with Product Owners to identify ambiguity and risks.
• Own the squad’s test architecture and strategy across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
• Lead performance and load testing, set baselines, and translate findings into engineering improvements.
• Own the Definition of Done and quality gates before releases move to staging/production.
• Design, maintain, and improve automated test suites for CI reliability.
• Triage flaky tests vs regressions in high-traffic, high-risk areas; mentor QA engineers.
• Represent QA in chapter-wide standards, tooling decisions, onboarding, and testing practices.
• Take ownership of strategic QA initiatives (contract-testing framework, performance toolkit, AI-assisted workflows).
• Leverage AI and LLM tooling for test generation, data creation, regression triage, and documentation.
