Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland, a financial services company, is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to lead complex technical initiatives, drive architectural direction, and deliver scalable, secure software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, design, QA, and operations, and help shape long-term engineering decisions while applying modern Python frameworks, cloud-native patterns, and robust CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering in a senior/lead capacity.
• Backend with Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI/Flask/Django).
• APIs, data models, scalable distributed systems experience.
• Frontend with React and TypeScript.
• Cloud-native/serverless in AWS; CI/CD pipelines.
• Security-focused, maintainable, high-performing architectures.
• Lead technical initiatives and cross-functional delivery.
• Experience with AI-enabled tooling (GitHub Copilot/Claude Code).
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar automation tooling.
• DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
• Regulated financial services background advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex software across backend, frontend, and cloud.
• Drive architectural improvements for scalability and performance.
• Investigate incidents, lead root cause analysis, implement fixes.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor engineers on problem solving and coding standards.
• Contribute to design reviews and long-term engineering choices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve delivery capability.
• Partner with product, design, QA, and operations for end-to-end delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Influence tooling, deployment practices, and engineering standards.
