Job summary

JPMorganChase in Dublin is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Employee Platforms team. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering secure, scalable software and guiding design decisions across the SDLC in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The role emphasizes production-grade code, API design, cloud-native services (AWS), and mentoring engineers while adopting enterprise AI-assisted development practices to improve quality and delivery velocity.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages including Python.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems
