Job summary

IT Search seeks senior Python developers for multiple roles in Dublin. These are 6-month rolling contract positions requiring 3 days onsite weekly at Sandyford.

You will design, build, and optimise backend systems handling high-scale transactions, modernising platforms and delivering production-grade microservices. You will design REST APIs with Python frameworks, model data with SQLAlchemy, and operate microservices in a distributed cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Python and web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Deep expertise with SQLAlchemy and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
• Experience building and operating microservices in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerisation (Docker).
• A solid understanding of API design, performance optimisation, and system reliability.
• Ability to work onsite in Dublin 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Work extensively with SQLAlchemy for data modelling and database optimisation.
• Develop and maintain high-performance microservices in a distributed architecture.
• Refactor legacy systems into modern, cloud-ready applications.
