Job summary

The Irish Times Group is seeking an experienced senior full‑stack engineer to help modernise our publishing platforms. You will design, build and evolve core services that enable journalists and editors to create, manage, publish and distribute content across print, web, mobile and digital channels.

Working closely with Editorial, Product and Engineering teams, you will contribute to platform modernisation, CMS transformations and AI-enabled capabilities that enhance editorial productivity and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building modern web apps with React.
• Experience designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications and services.
• Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs and integrations using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and evolve platforms supporting content creation, management and distribution.
• Develop integrations between CMS platforms, editorial systems and APIs.
• Support newsroom workflows enabling efficient publication of content.
