Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to partner with public sector customers, delivering installation, migration, training, and advisory engagements. You will balance hands-on delivery with clear communication, working across multiple projects in a largely asynchronous, remote environment.

Responsibilities include planning deployments, guiding migrations to GitLab SaaS, and providing technical guidance across the feature stack.

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code/tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required; travel to SCIF sites as needed.
• United States citizenship required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Professional Services engagements including installation, migration, training, and advisory services to customers, ensuring on-scope delivery and timelines.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments across architectures using infrastructure as code and configuration as code practices.
• Oversee migrations to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab, guiding planning, execution, and knowledge transfer.
• Provide technical guidance across the GitLab feature stack to help customers adopt best practices.
• Collaborate with project managers and engagement managers to improve delivery consistency and ensure schedule adherence.
• Manage and deliver multiple customer projects concurrently while balancing billable time and delivery priorities.
• Mentor other Professional Services Engineers and contribute to more repeatable delivery patterns.
• Coordinate with product and engineering teams to remove blockers and drive faster issue resolution.
