Job summary

CRC Central Remedial Clinic in Waterford invites applications for a Clinical / Educational Psychologist to join the CRC Children’s Disability Network Teams, providing interdisciplinary assessment and intervention for children aged 0-18.

Candidates should have a psychology degree, a postgraduate qualification, extensive post-qualification experience, and strong reporting, communication and teamwork skills. Driving licence and access to a car are desirable.

Job description

Full time, Permanent – 35 hours per week and Part-time roles

We currently have vacancies on our CRC Children’s Disability Network Teams, across our Waterford and South East Ireland teams

The CRC Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) will be providing intervention to children from the age of 0-18 years, presenting with complex developmental needs requiring inter-disciplinary intervention. Our services are based upon a Family Centered Practice Model in line with Progressing Disability Services. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team.

Partnering with the Virginia Mason Institute world leaders in supporting healthcare organisations through continuous improvement and transformational change. The successful candidate will have the following essential requirements:

• A University Degree or Diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.


• A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical or Educational Psychology.


• Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years’ experience requirement.

• Flexibility and teamwork skills which are key to this role.

Desirable requirement:

• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.


• Experience working with children with physical disabilities.


• Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities.


• Experience completing Assessment of Need.


• Full driver’s license and access to car.
