Job summary

Horizons is seeking to recruit two highly motivated Staff Grade Psychologists for their paediatric services. The successful applicants will work within an interdisciplinary team as members of a Children’s Disability Network Team.

One post is with CDNT 8 (Central Cork) based in Montenotte and the other is with CDNT 9 (North Cork City and Blarney), based in the Erinville, Western Road. The requirements include an honours degree in psychology with a post-graduate professional qualification in

Qualifications

• An honours degree in psychology together with an appropriate post-graduate professional qualification in psychology.
• Qualifications that comply with the Department of Health & Children and PSI requirements for appointment as a Staff Psychologist.
• Candidates trained outside Ireland must have qualifications validated to work in Ireland by the Department of Health & Children at time of application.
• Have up-to-date permissions to work and reside in Ireland at time of application.
• Full driver’s licence and access to own vehicle.
• Experience working as a psychologist with children with disabilities and/or autism is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work within an interdisciplinary team as a member of the Children’s Disability Network Team.
• Two posts: CDNT 8 (Montenotte) and CDNT 9 (Erinville, Western Road).
• Support paediatric services and contribute to vision and goals of Horizons.

Clinical/Educational Psychologist: The 13 -point salary scale for the post as of 01/06/2026:

New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.
