Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment supports a leading international engineering consultancy in Dublin to hire a Senior Project Planner on a 12-month initial contract. The Lead Planner will own planning across major programmes, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, project managers and clients to develop, maintain and monitor integrated schedules.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Planner on major engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to lead planning activities and be the primary planning contact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM, Critical Chain, Resource Levelling and EVM.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all planning and scheduling across complex projects.
  • Develop and maintain integrated programmes (engineering, procurement, construction).
  • Produce detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Facilitate planning workshops with stakeholders.
  • Monitor programme performance and identify risks/variances.
  • Prepare progress reports for senior management and clients.
  • Conduct schedule assurance reviews and time impact analyses.
  • Develop resource-loaded and cost-loaded programmes.

About Your New Company

Our client is a leading international engineering and infrastructure consultancy delivering some of Ireland's most complex and high-profile capital projects. Working across sectors including water, transportation, energy and major infrastructure, they have built a reputation for technical excellence, innovation and successful project delivery.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Planner to join their expanding Project Controls team.

About Your New Job

As the Lead Project Planner, you will take ownership of planning activities across major engineering and infrastructure programmes. Acting as the primary planning contact, you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, project managers and clients to develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading all planning and scheduling activities across complex projects.
  • Developing and maintaining integrated programmes covering engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Producing detailed schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Facilitating planning workshops with project stakeholders.
  • Monitoring programme performance and identifying schedule risks and variances.
  • Preparing progress reports and presenting planning updates to senior management and clients.
  • Carrying out schedule assurance reviews, time impact analysis and schedule risk assessments.
  • Developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded programmes.
What You'll Need
  • Proven experience as a Project Planner on major engineering, construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience leading planning activities and acting as the primary planning contact.
  • Water sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), Critical Chain, Resource Levelling and Earned Value Management.
  • Experience preparing integrated engineering, procurement and construction programmes.
  • Ability to analyse programme performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience undertaking schedule assurance reviews (including DCMA), schedule risk analysis and time impact assessments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
