We are seeking an experienced Planner to join an established main contractor delivering a major mission critical project in Dublin.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring project programmes, working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, engineers, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders.
The role will also involve some travel to Europe, providing an excellent opportunity to gain international project experience and work across multiple mission critical developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to establish realistic and achievable programme targets.
- Develop baseline programmes, short-term programmes, lookahead schedules and recovery programmes.
- Monitor progress against programme and identify delays, risks and potential impacts.
- Provide regular programme updates and detailed progress reports to project management and senior stakeholders.
- Analyse programme performance and recommend mitigation and recovery measures.
- Coordinate programme inputs from engineering, procurement, commercial, design and construction teams.
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier programmes into the overall project programme.
- Monitor critical path activities and key project milestones.
- Carry out programme impact assessments and support the management of delays and change.
- Attend progress, planning and coordination meetings with the project team and key stakeholders.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure programme commitments are understood and maintained.
- Assist with sequencing and planning of complex construction activities.
- Prepare reporting for senior management, clients and other project stakeholders.
- Support project teams with planning strategies and programme development.
- Maintain accurate programme records and ensure changes are properly documented.
Requirements
- Degree or relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 3+ years' experience in a planning role within the construction industry.
- Experience working for a main contractor is highly desirable.
- Strong experience developing and managing construction programmes.
- Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies.
- Experience working with subcontractor programmes and integrating them into the master programme.
- Good understanding of critical path analysis, float, progress measurement and programme reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel to European project locations when required.
- Previous experience working on mission critical, data centre or high-tech projects.
- Experience with large-scale MEP-intensive construction projects.
- Experience working across multiple European projects.
- Knowledge of delay analysis and extension of time principles.
- Experience with Power BI or other project reporting tools.
- Previous experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractors.
- Experience working within fast-paced, high-value construction environments.
