The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join the team and play a key role in the planning and successful delivery of multiple projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E Planner who enjoys working closely with project teams, clients, designers and specialist contractors. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust programmes, monitoring progress, producing project reporting and providing clear insight into programme performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain master baseline programmes using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6, in accordance with company procedures, industry best practice and client requirements.
- Establish appropriate schedule hierarchies and develop detailed project delivery programmes.
- Develop integrated programmes covering pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases.
- Produce detailed schedules covering design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and project close-out.
- Review and incorporate trade contractor programmes into the overall project schedule.
- Communicate programme requirements, progress and project controls information clearly to project teams, clients, design teams and contractors.
- Manage the collection and integration of progress information into weekly and monthly project reporting.
- Develop and monitor project KPIs and produce regular dashboards and management reports.
- Support the change management process by assessing the programme impact of variations, changes and delays.
- Develop, maintain and monitor detailed commissioning programmes.
- Establish commissioning KPIs and reporting processes.
- Prepare Time Impact Analyses and programme assessments to support extension of time submissions.
- Review and assess extension of time claims from trade contractors.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and support to junior members of the planning team.
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as an M&E Planner, ideally on large-scale commercial building services projects.
- Previous experience using Microsoft Project is essential.
- Strong experience in construction planning within Mechanical and/or Electrical Building Services contracting.
- Good understanding of design, procurement, installation, commissioning and project close-out activities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider project team.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a professional approach to stakeholder management.
