Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Planner – Electrical to lead planning activities for electrical works across multiple Ireland projects. Based in Cork, you will report to the Planning Manager and manage sequencing, durations, and progress reporting with KPI tracking.

You will require a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, strong M&E knowledge, and expert use of Primavera P6 and Excel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience (preferably in M&E contracting).
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of detailed EPC construction schedules for baseline agreements with clients.
  • Perform schedule health checks prior to baselining for accuracy and critical path validation.
  • Resource-load schedules, track KPI’s, and ensure timely updates.
  • Monitor construction progress and update schedules against actuals.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with team and client representatives.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports and support change control processes.

Position: Senior Planner – Electrical
Location: Cork
Job Description

Based in Cork, Ireland, reporting to the Planning Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning activities and progress reporting of the electrical works for various projects in Ireland. The successful candidate will be required to manage all aspects of planning and reporting including work sequencing, activity durations, programme logic and will be required to produce periodic progress reports including percentage complete, S/E ratios and KPI’s.

Skills And Requirements
  • Support PMT in development and execution of project programmes
  • Manage and support team members in executing the project
  • Knowledge of forensic planning and delay claim analysis
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience (preferably including M&E contracting experience)
  • Experience In Primavera P6 Software Required (min 5years)
  • Ability to interrogate & challenge where necessary Main Contractor / General Contractor programmes
  • Ability to Manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to Read and understand M&E drawings.
  • Microsoft Excel Intermediate to Expert level.
Responsibilities
  • Leading the planning role in development of detailed EPC construction schedules for baseline agreement with client and post baseline impacted schedules as required.
  • Complete schedule health checks prior to baselining for accuracy, integrity and critical path validation
  • Ability to fully resource loaded schedules, produce and track KPI’s
  • Ensuring accuracy and timely updating of construction schedule
  • Track planned versus actual EV progress
  • Working with team members to unsure system in place to capture and log any issues via the appropriate change control mechanisms
  • Attending site meetings as required (internal and client based)
  • Monitoring original versus actual budgets for scope growth/changes
  • Monitoring & updating inhouse database project control system
  • Monitoring fabrication workshop production and site installation progress
  • Productivity tracking of craft labour Spent vs Earned hours
  • Ensure planning owned deliverables in the production of weekly /monthly construction reports are completed on-time
  • Producing weekly, monthly and periodic reports for internal and external purposes
