Job summary

NIRAS is seeking a Senior Process & Utilities Engineer for its Ireland team, including travel to client sites internationally. The role focuses on understanding how manufacturing processes drive energy and water demand and developing practical engineering solutions to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

You will work with major Food, Beverage and Life Sciences clients from concept through to implementation.

Qualifications

5–10 years’ experience in Industrial Process Engineering, Utilities Engineering or Energy Engineering.
Strong understanding of Industrial Utility Systems including Steam, Hot Water, Chilled Water, Refrigeration, Compressed Air and Water Systems.
Experience leading studies and developing practical engineering solutions for decarbonisation and efficiency projects.

Responsibilities

Lead Process and Utility Assessments for Industrial Manufacturing Facilities.
Develop Mass and Energy Balances to understand Process Performance and Utility Demand.
Analyse steam, hot water, chilled water, refrigeration, compressed air and process water systems.
Identify opportunities for energy reduction, heat recovery and utility optimisation.
Develop concept designs and feasibility studies for decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects.
Mentor junior engineers and support client engagement and proposals.
