Job summary

Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Dublin is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to set technical direction across process modelling, capacity planning, and network improvements.

You will drive evaluations that inform sourcing strategies, tech transfers, and new product introductions, partnering with IT, automation, and on-site teams. The role demands strong Excel modelling, biopharma process knowledge, and a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in process engineering within biopharmaceutical/pharma environments.
• Proficient in process modelling and digital twin/simulation tools.
• Advanced Excel for capacity, mass balance, COGs, utilities, and wastewater models.
• Strong collaboration across IT, automation, and site teams.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead network capability and process fit assessments across DS, DP, API, FP, and packaging.
• Drive facility fit, capacity, and process evaluations for strategic sourcing and transfers.
• Champion modelling standards and deploy digital tools to improve decisions.
• Interface with external CMO partners to assess capability and fit.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and build modelling capability.
• Support long-range planning with process engineering input.
